About The Position
The Personal Stylist, also known as MyStylist, focuses on exceeding performance metrics and sales goals through enterprise-wide cross-selling, an entrepreneurial mindset, and adoption of innovative selling ideas and applications. The role delivers an elevated, seamless customer experience through lifestyle selling, in-store and virtual selling, service, and technology. Personal Stylists grow their customer base by building relationships with vendor partners, store leadership, peers, and the local community. The position emphasizes acquiring new customers, developing and maintaining client relationships through clienteling, and building a social media presence. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week; actual hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
- Self-starter who can adapt quickly to changing customer expectations and needs.
- Resourcefulness and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Keen sense of fashion and ability to coordinate items and use suggestive-selling techniques.
- Experience or familiarity with a variety of lifestyles, business segments, and social media platforms, and credibility interacting with a broad customer base.
- At least 3 years of retail experience or experience in another high-touch selling position.
Responsibilities
- Exceed sales goals by providing personalized, elevated shopping experiences in-store and online.
- Drive customer acquisition through networking, social media, online and in-store traffic, and a compelling online presence that promotes services and experiences.
- Partner with store teams, vendors, and community partners to develop and host virtual and in-store events that generate incremental sales.
- Use selling tools and resources to increase annual customer spend and repeat visits through outreach, correspondence, appointments, and relevant product recommendations.
- Use data to make decisions that drive growth and understand the local market and customer base.
- Meet regularly with the Store Manager to discuss performance, goals, and actions.
- Complete daily and weekly tasks, including checking email, maintaining appointment bookings, following up with customers, developing and posting content, and other assigned duties.
- Attend assigned vendor trainings and development workshops.
- Share knowledge with peers and support their skill development while continuing to develop personal skills.
- Participate regularly in store leadership meetings and visits.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
- Foster acceptance and respect to strengthen relationships and support authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
