About The Position
ABC Home Healthcare is hiring Personal Care Homemakers, HHAs, CNAs, and nursing students to provide one-to-one care to elderly clients in their homes. Work is available locally across the communities served by the agency, including Greater Boston, the North Shore, Cape Ann, and Merrimack Valley. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with flexible scheduling. Caregivers provide personal care according to direction from the Clinical Manager or HHA Supervisor and follow each client’s care plan. The work supports seniors in remaining safe at home and may include personal care, assistance with daily tasks, companionship, and accompanying clients outside the home. ABC Home Healthcare is a local, family-owned home care agency that has served its communities for 20 years.
Requirements
- Personal Care Certificate, current nursing student status, or related experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to communicate in English by reading, writing, and speaking.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel or squat, push, and pull; the level of assistance required depends on the client’s mobility.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Compassionate and dependable.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care as directed by the Clinical Manager or HHA Supervisor, including bathing, oral care, grooming, dressing and undressing, and toileting.
- Record changes in a client’s weight and skin condition when needed.
- Follow the client’s care plan.
- Assist with daily tasks such as meal preparation, feeding, changing linens, light housekeeping, and shopping.
- Accompany clients outside the home when needed.
- Engage with clients and provide companionship.
