About The Position

ABC Home Healthcare is hiring Homemakers to work one-on-one with elderly clients in their homes across the Greater Boston, North Shore, Gloucester, Cape Ann, and Merrimack Valley communities. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with flexible, family-friendly schedules. Training is available. The agency is local and family-owned and has provided home care services for over 15 years.

Homemakers help clients remain safe at home by preparing and serving meals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, providing light housekeeping, accompanying clients outside the home when needed, and offering companionship. The advertised sign-on bonus applies to new ABC field staff only: eligible staff earn $100 for every 100 hours worked, up to $1,000, based on hours worked during the first six months from the hire date.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and a car.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate in English by reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel or squat, push, and pull.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
• Provide light housekeeping, including making or changing beds, laundry, ironing, sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and grocery shopping.
• May accompany clients outside the home.
• Engage with clients and provide companionship.
