About The Position

Lonestar Managing General Agency (MGA), a growing regional personal auto insurance carrier, is seeking an Underwriting Assistant / Customer Service Representative. This on-site role is suited to customer-focused professionals interested in developing a career in insurance. No underwriting experience is required, and comprehensive training is provided. The role supports agents and policyholders with service requests and policy transactions while assisting underwriting operations and departmental workflows.

Requirements

Previous customer service experience is required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

Insurance or personal auto underwriting experience.
Property & Casualty (P&C) license.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide timely and accurate customer service to agents and policyholders.
Assist with quotes, endorsements, policy changes, and renewals.
Enter and process new business policies, endorsements, and renewal transactions.
Respond professionally to phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
Develop knowledge of insurance coverages, underwriting guidelines, rating plans, and state-specific requirements.
Support underwriting operations through data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks.
Help improve departmental workflows and procedures.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
