About The Position

The Library Innovation Lab at Harvard Law Library seeks an information professional to manage a one-year project to build and launch a system for preserving and sharing legal scholarship using Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) within the Perma.cc service. Perma.cc has provided web citation preservation to the legal community for over a decade, and DOI adoption is increasingly important in law, with Bluebook requirements anticipated. The project will plan DOI integration into the Perma.cc ecosystem, coordinate planning and rollout of DOI minting, and document sustainable operational models for ongoing management. The position is part-time, 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and is a one-year term appointment subject to funding and departmental need. The work may be performed fully remotely by eligible applicants in a state where Harvard is registered to do business, or in person with a hybrid schedule. Remote work is subject to business needs, manager approval, and Harvard work-location requirements. Travel may be required, including quarterly on-site meetings, conferences, and events. Finalists should expect an in-person interview in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
