About The Position

Axcess is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide home care to a 19-year-old client in Taylors, South Carolina, who needs assistance with all activities of daily living. The role provides compassionate nursing care to children and young people with special needs and disabilities, while also offering support to their parents or guardians. Care needs vary by client and may include medication administration, catheter, tracheostomy, wound, or ventilator care, assistance with daily activities, and accompanying parents to appointments or therapies. The nurse may also assist with light housekeeping and laundry.

The schedule is Thursday and Friday from 2:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., with flexible weekends. Axcess offers telephone assistance from 8 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week. Insurance benefits are available after a probationary period for employees working more than 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Hold an active RN license to practice in South Carolina.
• Have one year of clinical experience.
• Have current CPR certification.
• Have annual TB testing; Axcess covers the cost if the test is expired.
• Pass a SLED background check.
• Pass a drug test.
• Be physically able to provide care to a child with special needs.
• Have a valid driver's license and insured transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to a client with special needs.
• Assist the client with activities of daily living.
• Provide care that may include medication administration, catheter care, tracheostomy care, wound care, or ventilator care.
• Accompany parents to appointments and therapies as needed.
• Assist with light housekeeping and laundry as needed.
• Support the child and the parents or guardians during home care visits.
