About The Position
Right at Home is hiring compassionate caregivers to provide in-home and senior-community care in San Marcos and surrounding service areas. The role supports clients’ quality of life by helping with daily activities, household tasks, meals, transportation, companionship, dementia care, medication reminders, and prescribed range-of-motion exercises. Openings are available for full-time and part-time caregivers, with flexible shifts and scheduling to accommodate caregiver preferences. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job.
- Have reliable transportation to and from each shift.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance.
- Be able to pass a full employment background check.
Nice To Haves
- A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.
- Preferably have one year of caregiving experience, with at least six months required; caregiving for a family member counts. Applicants new to the field who are interested in a caregiving career may be trained.
- Experience with dementia, hospice, or care facilities is a plus.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with showering, bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist with transferring and moving clients throughout their homes.
- Perform household activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping, washing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks.
- Provide transportation and accompany clients on errands or appointments.
- Provide dementia care.
- Offer companionship through activities such as reading, music, crafts, games, and puzzles.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Assist with prescribed range-of-motion exercises.
