About The Position

Charter Oak Home Care is seeking an experienced caregiver to provide in-home care to a male client in Canton (Collinsville). The client lives with his wife, has late-stage dementia, is bedbound, uses a Hoyer lift for transfers, is at risk of falling, and has a catheter. The listed schedule is Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pay is $18–$23 per hour. Other openings may offer shifts of 4–12 hours on any day of the week, with caregivers able to design a part-time or full-time schedule. The caregiver helps implement personalized care plans and schedules, provides personal care and companionship, and supports clients’ physical, social, and emotional well-being in their homes. Charter Oak Home Care is a family-run organization founded in 1985 that supports Connecticut seniors in remaining independent at home.

Requirements

Compassion and empathy.

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Ability to pass a background check and provide references.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a PCA, HHA, or CNA.
Alzheimer’s or dementia experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver care to the client in their home.
Help execute personalized weekly schedules and care plans.
Provide companionship and ongoing social and emotional support.
Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, light housekeeping, feeding, and meal preparation.
Keep safety, order, and client enjoyment in mind.
Provide transportation to and from appointments as needed.
Document completed tasks and report changes in the client’s condition.
