About The Position

Harborview Pediatric Clinic is hiring a Patient Services Specialist 2 to support clinic communications, appointment scheduling, and patient information processes. The role is part-time at 80% FTE (32 hours per week), on-site, and scheduled for day shifts Monday through Friday. The clinic offers primary care, well-child visits, developmental screenings, breastfeeding support, confidential teen services, mental health services, specialty services, and care for children in foster and kinship care. It also provides interpreter services and other support for families, including referrals and assistance with health insurance paperwork.

The position works with clinic staff, providers, patients, and other team members to support efficient communication, patient satisfaction, and high-quality care. Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine, serving patients across the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except where legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration, apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff, providers, and patients with an efficient system of internal and external communications, including answering phones and triaging calls.
• Schedule provider and ancillary service appointments.
• Obtain patient demographic, financial, and clinical information.
• Partner with all members of the clinic team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery.
• Perform other duties as requested.
