About The Position

Harborview Medical Center’s Eye Institute is hiring a Patient Services Specialist 2 to support clinic communications, scheduling, and patient service. The Eye Institute, located in the Ninth & Jefferson Building in Seattle, provides medical and surgical care for common and complex eye conditions, along with refractive and oculofacial plastic surgery procedures. Its Eyes on James optical shop offers eye exams, specialty glasses, and contact lenses. This is a regular, full-time, on-site position working 40 hours per week on a Monday–Friday day schedule. The role supports clinic staff, providers, and patients, and partners with the clinic team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care. The position offers convenient access to public transportation and an opportunity for career growth. The hourly pay range is $21.82–$29.41. Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent.
One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except where legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration, apply.

Responsibilities

Provide an efficient system of internal and external communications for staff, providers, and patients, including answering phones and triaging calls.
Schedule provider and ancillary service appointments.
Obtain patient demographic, financial, and clinical information.
Partner with all members of the clinic team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery.
Perform other duties as requested.
