About The Position

This position serves as a resident expert in its area of support by providing an environment of goodwill and optimum service to patients and clients. It is a temporary, limited-term assignment with an anticipated duration of six months; continued employment beyond the assignment is not guaranteed. The role is 100% on-site in Sacramento, California (95811).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of previous medical secretarial or office experience.
• Active CPR and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and courteously provide information and services requested by patients.
• Seek assistance from others when needed, inform patients or clients, explain who is being contacted, and ensure requests are addressed while minimizing inconvenience.
• Maintain patient and client confidentiality at all times.
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Communicate appointment delays effectively with patients and providers, including wait times.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and co-payments for HMOs, PPOs, and managed care plans.
• Create daily batches, collect co-payments, provide receipts, and obtain credit or debit card authorization as needed.
• Explain service terms and conditions and patients' financial responsibility.
• Answer phones as needed.
