About The Position

The Patient Services Representative/Medical Assistant supports patient care and clinic operations at the San Jose and Palo Alto, California locations. The role welcomes and guides patients through the visit, assists with clinical preparation and exam-room procedures, maintains clean and sterile rooms, and handles patient-care and clerical tasks. Success in this position requires passion for patient care, problem-solving, openness to learning new skills, comfort in a fast-paced environment, and teamwork.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
One year of experience with EMR systems preferred.
One year of experience taking vital signs preferred.
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet registered patients and guide them through the patient flow process to ensure a smooth experience.
Monitor clinical equipment and promptly escalate issues to the supervisor.
Check schedules and accompany patients to exam or procedure rooms.
Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and exam preparation.
Maintain a sterile environment and follow standard infection-control precautions.
Prepare exam rooms before visits, clean rooms and instruments, and restock supplies between patients.
Take vital signs, update patient histories, and assist providers in the exam room.
Enter patient data into the practice management system.
Send, receive, and scan medical records; obtain diagnostic reports; and manage charting.
Check dated materials and medications for expiration dates and discard expired items.
Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
