Patient Services Manager
About The Position
Unidine Healthcare is seeking a Patient Services Manager to lead the Patient Services Team in an acute care setting in Brooklyn, New York. The manager establishes goals and oversees implementation of patient food service needs based on medical direction and the patient population. The role also leads, develops, and supports the patient services team while ensuring that meal service complies with diet orders, regulatory requirements, confidentiality standards, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies. The manager supports patient satisfaction initiatives and participates in departmental and facility-wide quality programs.
Requirements
- Associate degree with one year of work experience in food services or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in food service technology/management or a related field.
- Possess the skills needed to effectively use Microsoft Office applications, an electronic medical record, and diet office systems.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Dietary Manager certificate, Registered Diet Technician, or Registered Dietitian.
- At least one year of food service management experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
- ServSafe® certification.
Responsibilities
- Establish goals and oversee implementation of patient food services needs based on medical direction and patient population.
- Hire, direct, coach, train, and develop patient service team members.
- Comply with dietary restrictions for special or modified diets while meeting food preferences within the limitations of diet orders.
- Ensure patient services staff work toward stated patient satisfaction goals.
- Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agency requirements, and adhere to facility confidentiality, HIPAA, and patient rights policies.
- Participate in or lead patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility-wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs.
