About The Position

Southcoast Health is seeking a Patient Services Ambassador (Dietary Aide) for St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The role supports customer and patient satisfaction by helping patients make meal selections, adjusting selections to dietary restrictions with the patient, and maintaining accurate patient-selected menus. The position uses the Patient Services Software Platform and, as needed or directed, the EPIC Platform. This is a 16-hour position with a day shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including weekend and holiday rotation. Pay is based on experience, with a stated range of $16.81 to $23.81 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, plus additional courses or training, or equivalent knowledge or experience is preferred.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or qualify for an exemption for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying the choice to be exempt once hired.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of duties to ensure customer and patient satisfaction.
Ensure patient meal selections are obtained as close to mealtime as possible, as directed.
Adjust meal selections to accommodate dietary restrictions with the patient.
Update and correct patient-selected menus only with the patient’s knowledge.
Use the menu correction guide and consult the assigned dietitian as a resource to avoid serious menu-correction errors.
Describe the ingredients and features of all menu items.
Enter patient food preferences into the Patient Services Software Platform.
Perform duties using the EPIC Platform as needed or directed.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
