About The Position

Southcoast Health is seeking a Patient Services Ambassador (Dietary Aide) for St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The role supports customer and patient satisfaction by helping patients select meals, making menu adjustments with patients to accommodate diet restrictions, and ensuring menu corrections are accurate. The ambassador must be able to describe menu ingredients and features and enter patient food preferences into the Patient Services Software Platform. Duties may also include using the EPIC Platform and other reasonable assigned tasks. This is a per diem position with day shifts and a weekend and holiday rotation. Shift hours are 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.–7:45 p.m. Compensation is based on experience, with a listed range of $16.81–$23.81 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED plus additional courses or training, or equivalent knowledge or experience, is preferred.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or be exempt for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying the choice to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Responsibilities

Perform duties to help ensure customer and patient satisfaction.
Ensure patient meal selections are made as close to mealtime as possible, as directed.
Adjust meal selections to accommodate diet restrictions in consultation with the patient.
Update and correct patient-selected menus only with the patient’s knowledge.
Use the menu correction guide and consult the assigned dietitian as a resource to avoid serious menu-correction errors.
Describe the ingredients and features of all menu items.
Enter patient food preferences into the Patient Services Software Platform.
Use the EPIC Platform as needed or directed.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
