About The Position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) supports providers and connects with patients as part of an ambulatory care team, helping provide a seamless and compassionate experience. The role serves patients arriving for appointments or contacting the department by phone or in person to request appointments or information about tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters. The PSR also enters patient and payer billing information at the time of service, follows up on missing information, and maintains accurate, timely medical records in accordance with practice and medical group standards.

This is a per diem position with hours as needed based on department needs and no guarantee of hours or benefits. The department operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is based at Park Ridge and supports LGH Radiation Oncology and Parkside Infusion.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of related customer service experience.
• Experience handling difficult callers, customers, or patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, high-quality service to patients arriving for appointments or contacting the department by phone or in person.
• Respond to patient requests for appointments and information about tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters.
• Enter patient and payer billing information at the time of service and accurately follow up on missing information.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with practice and medical group standards.
