About The Position

BJC Medical Group is hiring a full-time Patient Service Representative for its Family Medicine office in Chesterfield. This outpatient role combines medical secretary and front-desk duties. The representative serves as an initial point of contact for front-office activity and helps direct patient flow. The position includes patient check-ins, appointment scheduling, maintaining patient financial records, and possibly operating the switchboard as needed. The schedule is 40 hours per week on day shift, with no call, weekends, or holidays. The role is benefit eligible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–5 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Medical office experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle telephone calls from patients and staff, forwarding calls that require triage.
• Perform receptionist duties with close attention to detail and professionalism.
• Verify health insurance payment information and explain applicable regulations to patients; collect payments and record data.
• Enter service charges, including assigning diagnostic codes and entering physician- and clinic-related charges.
• Coordinate information with the Central Billing Office to ensure charges are captured and properly collected.
• Perform patient check-ins and schedule appointments.
• Maintain patient financial records.
• Serve as a switchboard operator as needed.
• Help direct patient flow at the physician office.
