About The Position
As a Patient Service Representative, you are the warm and friendly point of contact for visitors, providers, and staff within the General Surgeries department, helping keep the department running through exceptional customer service. The position is part-time at Unity Hospital in Rochester, New York. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with every other weekend.

Responsibilities
- Manage patient check-in and check-out.
- Work with patients and families, explain relevant unit processes, and answer questions to the best of your ability.
- Round on the patient care unit and provide customer service to patients who request assistance.
- Prepare the unit with the daily staff assignment board, nurse locators, and updated patient room boards.
- Assist the Clinical Nurse Leader with coordinating daily patient activities.
- Update patient charts when appropriate.
- Oversee information flow within the unit, including telephone, mail, fax, and paper reports.
- Maintain and stock supplies on the unit.
- Process physician paper orders or Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) tasks.
- Maintain electronic and paper medical records.
