About The Position

Putnam County Hospital is looking for a PRN (as needed) Weekend Patient Service Representative to join the Putnam County Prompt Care team at the YMCA in Greencastle! This position would be PRN on weekends with the option to join the PSR float pool on an ongoing basis. Greets patients, organizes patient files, and moves patients through a pre-determined schedule of appointments at a physician's office.

Requirements

  • HS Graduate or Equivalent
  • No Years of Related Experience
  • No License/Certificate Required
  • Driver's License Required
  • Accurate data entry
  • Ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members
  • Efficiently conducts check-in, check-out, and rescheduling procedures
  • Verifies insurance coverage
  • Collect copays and balances at time of appointment
  • Answers, triages, and appropriately routes incoming calls
  • Explains office policies, insurance coverage, and services available to patients
  • Schedules appointments for the physicians and physician assistant to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of examining and treatment rooms.
  • Prepares a daily schedule of examinations for each provider
  • Accurately enters all patient demographic, billing, and insurance information in the Electronic Medical Record (AllScripts)
  • Receives, reviews, and distributes documentation to appropriate staff members in a timely manner
  • Reviews patient schedule for following day and verifies all necessary paperwork is on file. Follows up with patients for any missing documentation
  • Follows established protocols for opening and closing office
  • Performs other duties as assigned
