About The Position
Fitzgibbon Hospital is seeking a self-driven, compassionate Patient Service Representative to join their Hospital team. As a non-profit community hospital, Fitzgibbon Hospital is vital to the health and well-being of the communities it serves in the Marshall, MO and surrounding area. The Patient Service Representative is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, greeting and registering them, collecting payments, and managing the organization's switchboard. This role is crucial for initiating electronic patient encounters and ensuring accurate reimbursement by staying updated on changing insurance requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 1 year customer service experience
- Insurance experience

Responsibilities
- Greets and registers patients presenting to the hospital, Emergency Department, and clinics
- Announces codes over the Emergency Alert System for the organization
- Collects copays and balances on current and previous encounters
- Answers all switchboard calls for the organization
