Patient Registration Representative
About The Position
The Patient Registration Representative accurately enters patients into Marshall Medical Center (MMC) for treatment and helps ensure they are comfortable and safe during the admission process. The representative provides a caring and professional first impression of MMC. The role collects complete and accurate demographic and financial information to support patient service and reimbursement, and collects deductibles and co-payments at the time of service. The representative must understand and comply with applicable federal and state regulations related to patient consent, release of information (ROI), HIPAA, and federal, state, and private insurance reimbursement requirements. The position interacts daily with patients, physicians, nursing, ancillary, and support staff.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Excellent demonstrated customer service skills.
- Significant PC Windows, Word, and Excel skills.
- Proven accurate data entry and 10-key skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to be an effective member of a work team.
Nice To Haves
- Previous health care experience preferred.
