Patient Registration Representative - Onsite - Ascension St Vincent's Health Center - St Johns
About The Position
The Patient Registration Representative is the first point of contact for patients at Ascension St Vincent's Health Center - St Johns County Imaging. The role provides fast, compassionate, and accurate access to care through patient check-in and registration, while supporting patient experience, hospital operations, and revenue cycle success. It involves working across computer systems, handling phone calls, gathering and entering patient information, and assisting patients and families in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The position is onsite at 205 Trinity Way, St Johns, FL 32259. The scheduled shifts are Sunday through Tuesday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Wednesday, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Healthcare experience is not required; training is provided. The posted base pay range is $16.00–$21.10 per hour, with individual pay determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly with high attention to detail.
- Comfort with shifting priorities based on patient needs.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test and meet vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process, using multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently.
- Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Support timely access to care by minimizing registration delays and answering questions with confidence, clarity, and compassion.
- Build trust with patients who may be ill, anxious, confused, or overwhelmed.
- Navigate insurance plans and coverage details; enter demographic and medical data; collect co-pays; and provide cost estimates when applicable.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to support smooth patient flow.
