About The Position
The Patient Registration Rep is the welcoming face and voice of Henry Ford Health, helping create a smooth and compassionate experience for patients. The role supports clinical and non-clinical teams by managing patient registration, insurance verification, and cash collections. It contributes to a positive first impression, streamlined operations, and patient advocacy. This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, with a midnight shift from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to meet or exceed customer service standards over the phone, in person, and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in patient admitting, registration, or insurance eligibility in a hospital or medical office setting.
- EPIC training or experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients face-to-face, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect payments accurately and efficiently.
- Update patient registration and insurance information in the organization’s systems.
- Respond to inquiries from callers and customers and advocate on their behalf.
- Perform new patient registration and preregistration tasks.
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
