About The Position

The Patient Registration Rep is the first point of contact for patients and helps provide a welcoming, efficient registration experience. The role supports patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff by managing registration activities, verifying insurance eligibility, and providing customer service. The position is based in Jackson, Michigan, is part time at 24 hours per week, and works the midnight shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience related to patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
• EPIC training or experience.
• Familiarity with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures for patient registration, including face-to-face check-in, preregistration, and insurance eligibility confirmation.
• Register new patients and update existing patient and insurance information.
• Respond to caller and customer inquiries and advocate on their behalf to meet their needs.
• Welcome patients and visitors, build loyalty, and anticipate their needs.
• Provide efficient and effective customer relationship management by telephone, in person, and in writing.
• Instruct others on registration processes and procedures as needed.
