Patient Registration Rep
About The Position
As a Patient Registration Rep at Henry Ford Health, you will be the first point of contact for patients and help ensure a welcoming and efficient registration process. You will support patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff by managing registration activities, verifying insurance eligibility, and providing exceptional customer service. Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience related to patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
- EPIC training or experience.
- Familiarity with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Follow standard operating procedures for patient registration, including face-to-face check-in, preregistration, and insurance eligibility confirmation.
- Perform new patient registration and update existing patient and insurance information.
- Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating on their behalf to meet their needs.
- Welcome patients and visitors, build loyalty, and anticipate their needs.
- Provide efficient and effective customer relationship management by telephone, in person, and in writing.
- Instruct others on registration processes and procedures as needed.
