About The Position

As a Patient Registration Rep, you will welcome and support patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff while helping ensure a smooth, compassionate registration process. You will manage patient registration, insurance verification, and cash collections, creating a positive first impression and supporting patients from their initial contact with Henry Ford Health. The position is full time on the midnight shift, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service over the phone, in person, and in writing.
• Willingness and ability to instruct others.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in patient admitting, registration, or insurance eligibility in a hospital or medical office setting.
• EPIC training or experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients face-to-face, providing a welcoming experience.
• Verify insurance eligibility and handle cash collections accurately.
• Update patient registration and insurance information in the organization's systems.
• Respond to caller and customer inquiries and advocate on their behalf.
• Complete new patient registration and preregistration tasks efficiently.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
