ER Patient Registration - Part Time
About The Position
Join a leading hospital in Apple Valley as a Patient Registration Clerk, supporting patients in a fast-paced, patient-centered emergency room environment. The role involves registering patients, verifying insurance and assisting with financial clearance, collecting documentation and signatures, cashiering, coordinating patient flow and bed placement, and supporting discharge processing with Case Management and Financial Counseling. The clerk also welcomes and guides patients and visitors with empathy and professionalism. This is a part-time contract position based onsite in Apple Valley, California, with potential to hire. The schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., totaling 24 hours per week, with the potential to pick up additional shifts. The pay range is $25.00 per hour. Temporary-role benefits may be available subject to eligibility and plan terms.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital setting.
- Familiarity with insurance verification is required.
- Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort with pushing mobile computer carts and being on one's feet in the ER.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients upon arrival, entering accurate information into the hospital system.
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with financial clearance processes.
- Collect required documentation and obtain patient signatures.
- Perform cashiering and collect payments as needed.
- Coordinate with departments to support smooth patient flow and timely bed placement.
- Confirm insurance eligibility and communicate coverage details to patients.
- Support discharge processing in collaboration with Case Management and Financial Counseling.
- Welcome and guide ER patients and visitors with empathy and professionalism.
