About The Position

Fairview has an immediate opening for a Patient Registration person at its River Walls Clinic in River Falls, Wisconsin. This position is approved for 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). The schedule rotates on a two-week basis: Week 1 is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday; Week 2 is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Patient Registration greets and welcomes patients into the clinic, verifies and registers patients, and schedules appointments accurately and efficiently. The position verifies insurance and demographic information, reviews and maintains patient accounts, and secures financial arrangements for self-pay balances before and during patient appointments.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of a medical terminology course or equivalent experience and education.

Responsibilities

Register patients and verify insurance and demographic information according to established guidelines.
Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, contract group number, effective dates and coverage, correct insurance, and billing address.
Inform patients about insurance copays or the self-pay policy and document the information in the patient account for front desk staff.
Monitor patient account balances and inform patients about outstanding balances to ensure appropriate financial arrangements.
Research and facilitate patient questions and concerns according to established guidelines and procedures.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
Actively participate in creating and implementing improvements.
Occasionally answer incoming calls from patients or internal team members to assist in patient care.
Schedule appointments with the specified clinician according to scheduling guidelines, patient needs, and clinician availability.
