About The Position

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a Patient Registrar I for its Clerical Float Pool, based at the Reverend Hugh Cooper Administrative Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This full-time, non-exempt role coordinates patient encounters and episodes by carrying out patient registration activities. Accurate data capture is essential to help reduce denials. The registrar also secures payments due at the time of service, including coinsurance, copayments, residual balances, self-pay amounts, and deductibles; applies knowledge of insurance contract requirements and tools to answer network-provider questions; and explains documents requiring patient or representative signatures. The position includes supporting patients and families in waiting areas, keeping them informed about delays, and responding to concerns. Registrars use electronic tools to investigate insurance eligibility, collect accurate patient and insurance information, explain e-signature documents and offer printed copies, and direct patients to financial advocacy resources when appropriate. The role follows Presbyterian Medical Group cash-handling policies and balances funds daily. Presbyterian Healthcare Services is a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system founded in New Mexico in 1908. It includes nine hospitals, a statewide health plan, and a growing multispecialty medical group, and has nearly 14,000 employees. The organization says it is committed to improving the health of patients, members, and the communities it serves.
