The Patient Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients and supports the practice’s front desk operations. This in-person role manages patient check-in and check-out, phones, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, treatment plan and payment discussions, and accurate patient records. The coordinator helps patients understand benefits and costs, supports their decisions about care, and ensures they leave with their next visit booked. The role requires reliable, on-time attendance for the full scheduled shift, a warm and professional manner, composure under pressure, teamwork, confidence discussing costs and collecting payments, strong schedule ownership, attention to detail, and professional presentation. Essential physical tasks include working at a front desk workstation, using a computer and multi-line phone, communicating with patients, reading screens and documents, moving among the front desk, lobby, and operatories, and carrying office supplies up to 15 pounds. The hiring process includes a short video interview, followed by an in-office interview and working interview. Prior employers will be contacted for references, including questions about attendance, dependability, and teamwork; candidates should provide at least two supervisor references. Offers are contingent on satisfactory reference and background checks. New team members complete a 90-day introductory period.
