The Patient Catering Associate at Good Samaritan Hospital is responsible for patient meal service, including taking menu selections, processing menus, assembling and delivering trays, picking up and disassembling used trays, preparing food, fulfilling special requests, delivering between-meal food, cleaning trayline stations and equipment, and restocking the trayline. The associate communicates patient food issues, concerns, and needs to the area dietitian and nutrition supervisor, and assists the dietitian with fluid intakes. The role requires familiarity with dietary restrictions for special and modified diets so patient preferences can be met within diet orders and food allergy guidelines. Service quality is reflected in patient satisfaction survey results for the assigned unit. Additional daily tasks may be assigned by the reporting manager, and routines identifying task times will be provided. The associate works in an assigned area with service excellence and customer service as priorities, completes tasks accurately and on time, follows sanitation procedures according to HAACP standards, and builds and delivers patient trays while adhering to safety processes. TriHealth team members are expected to follow its SERVE standards by welcoming and assisting patients and guests, taking responsibility for service recovery, improving quality and safety, respecting individual preferences and contributions, maintaining a clean and safe environment, using resources responsibly, and treating others with courtesy and compassion.
