Patient Care Technician-Medsurg

About The Position
The Patient Care Technician supports patient health outcomes by providing basic nursing care, transporting patients, and performing clerical functions. The role involves caring for patients across diverse ethnic and social groups and collaborating with health care practitioners or registered nurses to provide comprehensive, quality care. The position is 0.6 FTE, with day shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Must apply for Medical Assistant-Registered Certification within seven days of hire.
- Must obtain Medical Assistant-Registered Certification within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Assistant Certification/Licensure.
- Medical Assistant-Registered Certification eligible; MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Recent bedside care experience in a health care environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital.
- Assist with basic nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions.
- Provide care for patients across diverse ethnic and social groups.
- Collaborate with a health care practitioner or registered nurse to support comprehensive quality care.
