About The Position
The Patient Care Technician supports patient health outcomes by providing basic nursing care, transporting patients, and performing clerical functions throughout the hospital. The role develops clerical and communication skills, age-appropriate nursing care expertise, and collaboration with healthcare practitioners and registered nurses to support patient care and services. The position is 0.6 FTE, with day shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Eligible for Medical Assistant-Registered certification and must apply within seven days of hire.
- Obtain Medical Assistant-Registered certification within 60 days of hire.
- Nursing Assistant certification or licensure.
- MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R.
- Current BLS certification.
- Recent bedside care experience in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital.
- Assist with basic nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions.
- Provide care to patients across diverse ethnic and social groups using strong interpersonal skills.
- Collaborate with a healthcare practitioner or registered nurse to deliver comprehensive, quality care.
