About The Position

The Patient Care Tech works in the Inpatient Rehab Unit at Trinity Health Livonia Campus. Under the direction of a registered nurse, the technician provides direct patient care while considering patients’ age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs and demonstrating unit- or area-designated competencies. The role also helps maintain a clean, safe patient-care environment that supports patient and family well-being and relationship-based care. This is a full-time position with 12-hour day shifts available from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; the posting also lists 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shifts. Full-time and part-time team members are required to work every other weekend and three holidays per year. The minimum rate of pay is $16.29, with DailyPay available.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Preferred: at least one year of prior direct-care experience in acute or long-term care, or successful completion of a CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course, or completion of the nursing fundamentals class in a BSN program for student nurses.
Work every other weekend and three holidays per year if employed full-time or part-time.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing care delegated by the registered nurse to help identify and attain treatment goals.
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Demonstrate sterile or aseptic technique, as appropriate, when performing delegated activities.
Help establish and maintain a clean, safe patient-care environment conducive to patient and family well-being.
Record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements.
Complete delegated unit-specific activities.
