About The Position

Grand Strand Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support Registered Nurses as part of a collaborative nursing team. The role provides hands-on, non-medicated patient care and helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment. PCTs assist with patients’ daily needs, help RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans, and contribute to patient comfort, dignity, and recovery.

The position is PRN. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date. No experience is required, and no travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Assist with daily patient needs such as vital signs and personal care, and help Registered Nurses monitor conditions and carry out care plans.
