About The Position

The Patient Care Technician provides direct bedside care to patients at Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Indiana, an inpatient rehabilitation facility in Mishawaka, Indiana. The hospital treats patients recovering from serious injuries and illnesses, including stroke, brain or spinal cord injuries, multiple trauma, and other debilitating conditions. Its multidisciplinary team provides individualized rehabilitation focused on restoring mobility, communication, and daily living skills. The technician works under the supervision of a registered nurse and integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.

Requirements

• Experience as a C.N.A. or Patient Care Technician is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
• Awareness of current infection control requirements and practices.
• Clinical proficiency in using policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Appropriate use of supplies and equipment.
• General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.

Nice To Haves

• C.N.A. certification preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CNA license preferred, but required in Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming; required in South Carolina only if beds are licensed as a skilled nursing unit.
• STNA required in Ohio.
• One year of experience in a hospital setting preferred.
