About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of the collaborative nursing team at Methodist Hospital, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients. The PCT assists with patients’ daily needs, including vital signs, mobility, and personal care, and helps RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans. The role calls for attention, empathy, and teamwork to help restore patients’ comfort and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Assist with daily patient needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care.
• Support Registered Nurses in monitoring patient conditions and carrying out care plans.
