About The Position
Sentara Foot & Ankle Specialists First Colonial is hiring a full-time Patient Care Specialist in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The role provides non-clinical support in a physician’s office and helps ensure an excellent patient experience by completing complex administrative tasks that support patient care delivery. Primary duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient questions. The position works with a team focused on providing the best care for patients. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is a dayshift role.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Three years of customer service experience.
- One year of experience in at least one of the following: health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third-party payers.
Responsibilities
- Provide non-clinical support within a physician’s office.
- Perform complex administrative tasks that support patient care delivery.
- Answer phones.
- Schedule appointments.
- Answer patient questions.
