Patient Care Specialist
About The Position
Sentara Family Medicine Physicians is hiring a full-time Patient Care Specialist in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The role provides non-clinical support in a physician’s office and helps ensure an excellent patient experience by completing complex administrative tasks that support patient care delivery. Duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and answering patient questions. The position is described as a collaborative role focused on working together to provide the best care for patients. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The posting lists a full-time base pay range of $21.69 to $32.44 per hour. Compensation may also include additional pay such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses, and may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Requirements
- High school diploma is required.
- Three years of customer service experience is required.
- One year of experience with health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third-party payers is required.
- An associate-level degree or higher may be considered in lieu of the required experience.
Responsibilities
