About The Position

Sentara Gastroenterology Specialists is hiring a full-time Patient Care Specialist in Charlottesville, Virginia. The role provides non-clinical support in a physician’s office and helps ensure an excellent patient experience by performing complex administrative tasks that support care delivery. Primary duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient questions. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the day shift. The role emphasizes teamwork in supporting patient care.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Three years of customer service experience required.
One year of experience with health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third-party payers required.

Nice To Haves

An associate-level degree or higher may be considered in lieu of the required experience.
