About The Position

Sentara Medical Group Family Internal Medicine Careplex West Office is hiring a full-time Patient Care Specialist in Hampton, Virginia. This role provides non-clinical support in a physician’s office and helps ensure an excellent patient experience by performing complex administrative tasks that support patient care delivery. The position’s primary duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient questions. The posting describes a collaborative team environment focused on delivering the best care for patients. The position is Monday through Friday on the day shift, with no nights, holidays, or weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Three years of customer service experience required.
One year of experience with health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third-party payers required.

Nice To Haves

An associate-level degree or higher may be considered in lieu of the required experience.
