About The Position

Sentara RMH Orthopedic Center is hiring a full-time Patient Care Specialist in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This role provides non-clinical support in a physician’s office and helps ensure an excellent patient experience by performing complex administrative tasks that support patient care delivery. Primary duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient questions. The position is part of a collaborative team focused on providing quality patient care. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the day shift.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Three years of customer service experience required.
One year of experience with health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third-party payers required.
An associate-level degree or higher may be considered in lieu of the required experience.

Responsibilities

Provide non-clinical support within a physician’s office.
Perform complex administrative tasks that support patient care delivery.
Answer phones.
Schedule appointments.
Answer patient questions.
