About The Position

Carolina Eyecare Physicians is a multidisciplinary physician group providing ophthalmology, optometry, cosmetic facial surgery, and skin care. Its mission is to “Bring Clear Vision to Life” through compassionate relationships and the pursuit of excellence in eye care. Patient Care Representatives maintain a friendly, professional environment as patients’ first and last point of contact. They are expected to be polite, attentive, and organized to support a positive patient experience. This is a full-time position. Travel to other locations may be necessary; the listed city and state and workdays and hours are not specified.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Prior experience in a customer service role.
Ability to work under pressure and respond positively to patient requests.
Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage time to meet organizational deadlines and requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, instruments, and equipment.

Associate’s degree.

Responsibilities

Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff upon arrival, monitor reception areas, and provide assistance as needed.
Provide a pleasant, prompt patient check-in by verifying information and helping patients with questionnaires and forms.
Print daily team and physician schedules.
Assist walk-in patients with scheduling inquiries and prescription or record pickup.
Communicate pertinent information using telephone and computer systems.
Cross-check and update next-day charts against the appointment schedule.
Maintain an orderly, pleasant workspace that supports the integrity and safety of patients and staff.
Make appointment confirmation calls based on the patient appointment schedule.
Collect copayments, fees for non-covered services, and existing account balances during checkout.
Complete reports and forms as requested.
Perform additional administrative duties as needed.
