Patient Care Extender | Urgent Care River Campus
About The Position
CentraCare is hiring a Patient Care Extender for its new second location, Urgent Care at River Campus, next to the Emergency Room. The location is scheduled to open in February 2027. In a fast-paced urgent care environment, the Patient Care Extender assists licensed medical staff in providing quality treatment and contributes to patient- and family-centered care as part of the healthcare team. The position is full-time, 72 hours every two weeks, working 12-hour shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on variable days. The schedule includes every third weekend and rotating holidays. Starting pay is $20.72 per hour and may be higher based on experience; the stated pay range is $19.53–$29.28 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card; this can be obtained internally upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed medical staff in the quality treatment of patients.
- Provide patient- and family-centered care as a member of the healthcare team.
- Perform wound irrigation and apply wound cleaning and dressing.
- Size crutches.
- Perform blood draws and EKGs.
- Clean and stock treatment rooms.
- Document patient activity.
