About The Position
The Patient Care Extender (PCE) works in a fast-paced urgent care environment and assists licensed medical staff in providing quality patient treatment. The PCE is a vital member of the team, supporting patient- and family-centered care through clinical and operational tasks. This position is at CentraCare’s new Urgent Care at River Campus location, scheduled to open in February 2027.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card; it can be obtained internally upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed medical staff in treating patients.
- Support patient- and family-centered care.
- Perform wound irrigation and apply cleaning and dressing materials.
- Size crutches.
- Perform blood draws and EKGs.
- Clean and stock treatment rooms.
- Document patient activity.
