About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA), also described as a nursing assistant, assists patients with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The role performs designated activities within the functions permitted by law for unlicensed nursing personnel. This includes helping patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care, and helping maintain a safe and clean environment. Open positions are available across inpatient units, including Medical-Surgical, Float Pool, PCU, and ICU.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old.
- Demonstrates ability to multitask under stressful situations.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate, collaborate, and manage relationships with interdisciplinary members while maintaining patient- and family-centeredness and safety in a timely, efficient, and equitable manner.
- BLS certification is included in the orientation program; successful completion is required before the first day in patient care.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Keyboard experience preferred.
