Patient Care Assistant - Medical Departments - PCA
About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA), also described as a nursing assistant, assists patients with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The PCA carries out designated activities within the functions permitted by law for unlicensed nursing personnel. Duties include helping patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care, and helping maintain a safe and clean environment. Open positions are available across inpatient units, including Med Surg, Float Pool, PCU, and ICU. BLS certification is included in the orientation program and must be successfully completed before the first day in patient care.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate, and manage relationships with interdisciplinary team members while maintaining patient- and family-centeredness and safety in a timely, efficient, and equitable manner.
- BLS certification must be successfully completed before the first day in patient care; it is included in the orientation program.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Keyboard experience.
