About The Position

Visiting Angels of Edmond is hiring a Patient Care Aide - PCA to support senior adults and other home-care clients in the local area, including Stillwater, Edmond, Guthrie, Seward, and Perkins. The role helps clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, mobility assistance, companionship, and support with daily routines. Aides must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Shift options include full-time, part-time, PRN, and 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, as well as short shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people and interest in providing meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Assist clients with shopping and putting away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
