About The Position

Visiting Angels Edmond is seeking Patient Care Assistants to provide compassionate in-home support to senior adults and others in need in Blackwell and surrounding communities. The role offers an opportunity to support clients and their families through companionship, personal care, mobility assistance, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation. Caregivers may also pursue advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. Shift options listed include full-time, part-time, PRN, and short shifts, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiving orientation.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate approach.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
