About The Position

Visiting Angels of Carmel is hiring Patient Care Aides to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout Hamilton County, including Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, Westfield, and Indianapolis. The role helps clients remain or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client, and aides provide personal care, household support, companionship, and assistance with daily activities. Aides must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The posting lists full-time, part-time, PRN, and short-shift options, as well as 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion and a desire to provide meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending medical appointments, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
